Lita Rossana Ford, also known as Lita Ford is an American singer-songwriter and guitarist who was born in the UK. She was a lead guitarist as a member of The Runaways, a hard-rock band made up of all girls in late 1970s. The band's punk-rock style and provocative lyrics helped them get not only the attention of rock fans but also from the community. The band was not able to gain a lot of attention within The United States but earned huge popular internationally, especially in Japan. Ford started a metal solo career when the group ended in 1979. She started taking voice lessons and then released her first album "Out for Blood" and then "Dancin" at the Edge. Ford vanished for some time from the scene following the albums' failure to receive any attention. The year was 1988, when she debuted her most successful album "Lita". Kiss Me Deadly, and Close My Eyes Forever both were huge hits. Sadly, her fame was brief and she disappeared from the music industry for many decades. In 1995, she dropped 'Black' and 15 years later , 'Wicked Wonderland. 2016 saw the release of her most recent studio album "Time Capsule". Guitar Player Magazine has awarded her The Certified Guitar Legend Award.
